WAKE COUNTY - FILE NO. 17 JT 32 - 1ST NOTICE - STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA / WAKE COUNTY / IN THE GENERAL COURT OF JUSTICE / DISTRICT COURT DIVISION / FILE NO. 17 JT 32 (RALEIGH), IN THE MATTER OF ALKADI, A minor male juvenile born August 26, 2011 in Wake County, North Carolina. - NOTICE OF SERVICE BY PROCESS OF PUBLICATION TO: GARREN LEE HOLCOMB, legal father of the above juvenile. The mother of the juvenile is Hannah Louisa Abdulla (“Petitioner”). TAKE NOTICE that a pleading seeking relief against you has been filed in the above entitled action. The nature of the relief being sought is as follows: A Petition seeking to terminate the parental rights of Garren Lee Holcomb concerning the above-referenced minor child was filed on February 6, 2017 pursuant to the provisions of G.S. 7B-400 et seq. with the Wake County Clerk of Superior Court, Juvenile Division (316 Fayetteville Street, Raleigh, NC 27601). YOU ARE REQUIRED to file a written answer to such pleading with the Wake County Clerk of Superior Court not later than June 28, 2017, being 40 days from the date of the first publication of this Notice on May 19, 2017, and upon your failure to do so, the Petitioner will apply to the Court for your parental rights to be terminated. You are hereby notified that if you are indigent, you are entitled to appointed counsel. If you have previously been appointed counsel and that counsel is still representing you in an abuse, neglect or dependency proceeding, that counsel shall continue to represent you unless otherwise ordered by the Court. If you are not represented by a lawyer and want a court appointed lawyer, you are encouraged to contact immediately the following lawyer who has been temporarily assigned to represent you: Lisa Ferrell, 120 Penmarc Drive, Ste. 101, Raleigh, NC 27603, (919) 334-8743. The appointment of provisional counsel shall be reviewed by the Court at the first hearing after service by this publication. You shall further be notified of the date, time, and place of any pretrial hearing, pursuant to the provisions of G.S. 7B-1108.1 and the notice of said hearing of the Petition will be mailed by the Petitioner upon filing of a written answer by you, or by 30 days from the date of service by publication, if no answer is filed, and you may attend the termination hearing. The Court will conduct a hearing to determine whether one or more grounds alleged in the petition for terminating parental rights exists. If the Court finds that one or more grounds exists, the Court will proceed at that hearing or a later hearing to determine whether your parental rights should be terminated.
